After introducing everything from extinct creatures in Jurrasic park to supercars by Lamborghini and Porsche, LEGO is back with four exciting sets in their new 2D creative theme, LEGO Art.
“We know adults are always trying to destress after a day at work, and we thought, what better way to help them switch off than by encouraging them to explore their favourite passion in a new creative way? With these wider-ranging designs, we believe that we can inspire film fans, music lovers and art and design aficionados immerse themselves in a world of art and creativity linked to their idols. Through this new experience, we believe adults can unwind, engage in mindful building activity and ultimately create a beautiful piece of wall art that perfectly reflects their personality.” said Louise Elizabeth Bontoft, Senior Design Director, LEGO Group.
Each set contains pop art portraits of iconic celebrities and movie characters. Also, each set comes with a soundtrack featuring the stories and unexpected details about the subjects of the artworks. Once completed, they can be hung on your wall or kept on your shelves as a home decor item.
Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe
This set reimagines one of artist Andy Warhol’s most recognised works, a colourful screen print of Marilyn Monroe, dating back to 1967. It consists of 3,341 pieces. It comes with 9 canvas wall decor plates, an exclusive signature tile, brick-built LEGO frame, unique new hanging element and piece separator. You can choose from 4 unique building options. Also, the soundtrack will take you into Andy Warhol’s NY studio ‘The Factory’ and will tell you the story of the artist, this artwork and LEGO’s interpretation of it.
Just like many other fans, we cannot stop ourselves from obsessing over these portraits of our favourite boy band from the 1960s.
This set reimagines the band’s famous ‘The White Album’ cover. It has a total of 2,933 pieces. By putting together these pieces you can create any one of these four iconic portraits of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr at a time. It has similar features as the previous set, the only difference being that it comes with ‘The Beatles’ signature tile. The soundtrack will provide you with rare recordings, musings, discussions about the songs and insights from LEGO designers, Kitt Kossman and Christopher Stamp.
Marvel Studios Iron Man
If you are a sucker for Marvel Studios’ superhero movies, this set is made for you.
It consists of 3,167 pieces. You can choose to build one detailed portrait out of 3 options featuring different versions of Iron Man’s armour; The Mark III, The Hulbuster Mark I or the Mark LXXXV. To push your limits, you can buy 3 of these sets and build an ultimate triple size wall piece showing Iron Man in action. The soundtrack will enlighten you about Iron Man’s origin in Stan Lee’s Marvel Universe.
Star WarsnThe Sith
The fandom of Star Wars is the one that will live on forever. This set features 3 of our favourite Star War Villians, the Sith Lords; Darth Maul, Kylo Ren and Darth Vader. It comes with 3,406 pieces. Just like the Iron Man artwork, you can also buy 3 of these sets and create an ultimate build showing Darth Vader in action. The soundtrack will make you nostalgic with the sounds of characters, vehicles and their most memorable lines.
All the sets have an RRP of €119,99/ $119,99/ £114.99.
