Mumbai-based AstaGuru auction house is conducting its annual ‘Modern Indian Art-No reserve auction‘ on June 27-28th. The 100-lot online auction will feature contemporary artworks by renowned Indian modernists such as SH Raza, MF Husain, FN Souza, VS Gaitonde, Akbar Padamsee, Ram Kumar, Amrita Sher-Gil, Krishen Khanna, Meera Mukherjee and Zarina Hashmi. Along with paintings, the auction will also feature some sculptures.
The bid will start at ₹20,000 for all the artworks.

Known as India’s Frida Kahlo’, Amrita Sher-Gil was one of the first artists to merge the Indian and European sensibilities. As a part of our upcoming No Reserve auction we have a double-sided work showcasing a study of horses. Done in pencil the work gives an insight into the preliminary sketching process of the artist.
