Cartier is known to launch collections that have stunning designs and their jewellery pieces are known for their exclusivity, finesse and craftsmanship. The newest offering from the French maison is [Sur]naturel.
Through this High Jewelry collection, the brand reinvents nature and transforms it into a realm of the supernatural. influenced by nature, the designs combine figuration and abstraction to depict water, flora and fauna.
Evolving around the idea of savoir-faire, the brand says that it is a union of the idea and its realisation and of creators and artisans.
Emeralds, sapphires and diamonds have been clubbed with stones such as coral, aquamarine, beryl, kunzite, opal and quartz. The end result is an astounding collection of five necklaces and a wristwatch.
Here are three creations from the collection:
The Hemis necklace is created by using irregularly-shaped opals, kunzite, pink diamonds and white diamonds to recreate the spotted effects on a panther fur. This beautiful cat is closely associated with the French marque. At the centre of the necklace, sits a cushion-shaped kunzite, which weighs around 71.80 carats!
The Sinopé necklace has minute strips of bold blue lapis lazuli to create the top outline of the necklace. The diamonds evoke the gentle motion of a flowing river. The piece is adorned with five cornflower blue sapphires.
