Known for his keen sense of design and aesthetics, he marries traditional Indian handlooms with modern design principles. Born and based out of Kolkata, Mukherjee is a National Institute of Fashion Technology graduate, debuting at Lakme India Fashion Week in 2002. He worked with couturiers in London such as Jean Paul Gaultier after a breakthrough show at the Mercedes New Asia Fashion Week in Singapore in 2003. Another career feat includes him being the first Indian to show at Milan Fashion Week. Currently he has carved a niche for himself in bridal couture, as well as being one of the most desired designers in Bollywood. Recently, he explored new avenues, launching his fine jewellery collection, and a limited pret collection with apparel house HnM.
