Ishu Datwani Founder, Anmol Jewellers T he zeal and passion of founder Ishu Datwani is the chief driving force behind Anmol jewellers, established in 1986. He began his journey with jewels and gems when he enrolled himself in a course at the Gemological Institute of America whilst in college as a student of commerce. Soon after, Datwani started soliciting gems while still in college. Datwani is proud to call himself a self-made man. With no godfathers in the business, he built Anmol jewellers from scratch. The rest, as they say, is history. From humble beginnings 36 years ago, today Anmol prides itself on being known for its nuanced designs which have been adorned by the likes of actresses Shilpa Shetty, Lara Dutta, Malaika Arora, Urvashi Sharma and Preeti Jhangiani. “Luxury is a state of mind — it is what I deserve.” Pratiksha Prashant Creative Director, Kishandas & Co. Maintaining consistency, the jewellery house metamorphosed into a flag-bearer for fine craftsmanship, propelled by the goodwill, love and patronage that came from its select clientele. The jewellery created at Kishandas & Co. predominantly continues to be ‘one-of-a-kind’. Prashant is Kishandas’ great-daughter-in-law, his grandson Prashant’s wife. Prashant joined the business in early 1995. An architect by profession, she brought her expertise into the business. In 2017, she conceptualised an artistic flagship store of Kishandas & Co. at Begumpet in Hyderabad. The store is their old residence which has been converted into a boutique heritage bridal jewellery outlet. “There is no substitute for hard work.
