On July 25, at an exclusive event in Shangai, Dior introduced its new fine jewellery line, the Tie & Dior collection. Designed by Victoire de Castellane, Creative Director at Dior Jewellery, this line is inspired by the Tie-Dye textile technique.
The exclusive launch featured a candlelit dinner in a mystical setting beneath the stars. It took place at Shanghai’s Amanyangyun resort. Dior presented a line-up of 16 models wearing goddess gowns crafted by Maria Grazia Chiuri, Creative Director at Dior Womenswear. These gowns were made using one colour in graded shades, especially for this event. The models were accompanied by 5 men in black tie, wearing rings and brooches by Dior’s old jewellery collections.

This is the first time that Victoire de Castellane has made extensive use of pearls in her jewellery at Dior. In fact, she took the designs to the next level by treating the pearls with colours in unusual shades. The collection features diamonds and gemstones cut in all shapes and sizes. It also showcases a mismatched style of earrings. “I really started with the play of colour in tie-dye”, said Castellane.
Overall, event showcased this collection along with 200 other jewels and 55 Haute Horlogerie watches from the brand’s old collections.
