Celebrating India’s 75th year of Independence, several restaurants around the country have taken extra efforts to make the day even more special. Right from improvised menus to mouth-watering brunches, and special deliveries, here’s how Indian restaurants are celebrating Independence day this year.
1. Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata, Thematic Brunch And Staycation

Making this independence day extra special, the Mariott Kolkata is offering a lavish brunch as well as a fun-filled weekend staycation package. The staycation offers free dine and stay for kids up to 12 years. The brunch menu, on the other hand, boasts an expansive selection featuring traditional cuisine from different states of India.
2. Fifty Five East, Grand Hyatt – The Grand Independence Brunch
Serving delicacies from all around India, Fifty Five East at Grand Hyatt Mumbai is hosting a spectacular buffet that includes a charcuterie spread, a live Thai salad station, assorted sushi, and over 20 delicious desserts. A dine-in special, the brunch starts from Rs 2,995 per person. For elite Hyatt members, a 30% discount will be provided on all food and drinks. Additionally, a day-use room will be provided for two hours on double occupancy.
3. Marriott Bonvoy on Wheels’ Biryani Specials

This Independence Day, Marriott International unites the flavours and aromas of Biryani from all over the country, by introducing 40 variations as a special treat for all Biryani enthusiasts. Guest can choose from 40 unique recipes infused with local style of each region, thereby adding an authentic flavour to each Biryani dish. These signature biryanis will be available from 13-19 August, across all Marriott Bonvoy on Wheels restaurants and can even be ordered on the Marriott Bonvoy on Wheels app.

An independence day tradition, The Bombay Canteen in Lower Parel, Mumbai is hosting an Independence day special dawaat, the proceeds of which will be donated to a good cause. Every meal bought will help revive 1/10th of an acre of farmland in Cheduputtu. The meal, which will include monsoon saag and squash rezala will be prepared using the grains that were planted by farmers thanks to the proceeds from the previous year’s daawat.
5. The St. Regis Independence Day Brunch

An Independence Day special menu, St Regis in Mumbai is hosting a brunch curated specially by chef Dane Fernandes. A modern twist on traditional dishes, the menu features dishes like butter chicken, tomato shorba and masale bhaat, along with a live food station serving favourites like vada pav and other popular street foods. Available at the Seven Kitchens restaurant, the dine-in brunch starts at Rs 3,300.
