Hands’ One Love collection by 9 international designers is an ode to humanity

Mumbai-based architect Padmini Pandey has curated a special collection of carpets, which has been designed by nine designers (including herself) from nine countries. The One Love carpet collection manufactured by Hands carpets reflects the power of unity among humanity.
This collection offers 10 handmade carpets by design gurus; Pamela Caspani from Australia, Regina Davila from Guatemala, Padmini Pandey from India, Sheena Poerwantoro from Indonesia, Luisa Scanu from Italy, Karla Celorio from Mexico, Katia Santillan S. from Peru, Svetlana Selivanona from Russia and Tuna Meier from Turkey. They all are bringing their local cultures and artistic influences to reimagine common elements of the environment.
Apart from creating a united stand through design, a part of the proceeds from each sale will go to Project Mala, which is dedicated to educating children residing in and around the carpet-making centres in India. For every carpet that is sold, one underprivileged child’s primary education will be sponsored for a year.

“We as architects and designers, have the power to shape and mould societies. We must exercise this power of design to contribute to society’s welfare. When creativity is used in the case of adversities, it empowers the concept of humanity, rising above all odds and one love is born” said Pandey.
“This tenacity to not just survive, but to evolve in the face of adversity is inherently human. One Love is a reflection of the resilient human spirit that is driven by pure artistic instinct,” says Ravi Patodia, Managing Director, Hands.
