Thomas Goode store in London
One of London’s oldest luxury retailers, Thomas Goode & Co,  is now set to be part of a multi-million-pound refurbishment by Cain International. Cain International is a privately held real-estate investment firm operating in Europe and the United States.
This deal includes the creation of 23 luxury, serviced apartments on South Audley Street in London’s Mayfair, which will be operated by The Oberoi Group. Marking the Indian hotel group’s debut in the European market, Prithvi Raj Singh Oberoi, Executive Chairman, The Oberoi Group, was quoted in Business Traveller, “The iconic building in the heart of Mayfair is a perfect complement to an Oberoi branded property.”

Johnny Sandelson, Chairman, Thomas Goode & Co, said: “For almost 200 years, Thomas Goode & Co has been synonymous with the finest quality china, glass and tableware. We are now taking the brand into the 21st century. After refurbishment, we will return to a smaller retail space, but it will retain much of its glorious past in a more contemporary setting.”

The Oberoi Group operates 32 hotels across the world and had a prior association with Thomas Goode, when they had opened a boutique and a museum within the Oberoi property Mumbai in 2019.

Thomas Goode & Co has had a long-standing relationship with the British Royal Family. The retailer has two royal warrants from, both, HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Prince of Wales.
