The news of Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan’s sudden exit from Karan Johar-led Dharma Productions’ upcoming film Dostana 2 has created quite a stir. To be directed by Collin D’Cunha, the film is a sequel of Dostana (2008), which starred Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham.
Amid speculations, Dharma Productions released a statement on Instagram, saying the banner will be recasting Dostana 2 – which originally had Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya in lead roles.

Although Kartik Aaryan’s reason to withdraw from the movie isn’t clear, the 32-year old actor has had his share of hits, including Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety (2018), Luka Chuppi (2019) and Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019). He also has some exciting big-ticket projects under his belt.
He recently wrapped up shooting for his first action-thriller Dhamaka that will likely release on Netflix this year. He will also be seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, alongside Kiara Advani and Tabu in November 2021, per the reports. Reportedly, the young star has also signed a whopping Rs75-crore movie deal with Eros International.
