In the COVID-19 pandemic, a slew of exhibitions, trade fairs, auctions and runway shows have gone virtual. More and more brands have been making the transition from offline to online.
Piaget, the Swiss jewellery and watchmaker, too joined the party. The European company has launched a virtual boutique; You can ‘walk-in’ and shop! The virtual salon can be accessed here, which is currently for Singaporeans. Singapore is the first country where Piaget has expanded digitally.
“Luxury shopping is not as straightforward as commodity shopping. It is about purchasing an intimate art piece that resonates with your values and personality. Brand inspiration and experience are key,” Petronille de Parseval, Managing Director, Piaget South East Asia & Australia was quoted in Bangkok Post.
Once you enter the virtual store, you are given an option to either explore the store by yourself or take a staff member’s help. The remotely accessible store lets you navigate the boutique with a panoramic 360 degrees view.
To see the watches and jewellery virtually, you simply need to zoom in and click on the product. It then pops up a window that provides its high-resolution image, technical specifications and product inspiration.
If you require any virtual assistance, then there’s an option to chat with Jennifer, the virtual salon’s automated chatbox. If you’d like assistance while navigating the store, then there’s an option to speak to a professional representative, by making a virtual appointment.
The new programme provides the minutest details about the brand, its products, the history and so on. For example, if you click on ‘Altiplano’ and view the products in this range, then under the ‘explore more’ option; the history of the Altiplano Ultimate Concept pops up. This makes for an interesting experience for the customers.
The store, design-wise is coloured in white, yellow, gold and the signature Piaget blue. To make the entire experience more intimate, the virtual walk gives you an option to invite your friends to walk along virtually—you can make the digital journey together in real-time.
