Rolls-Royce Motor Cars launched its first full-sized SUV the Cullinan in 2018, which became the fastest-selling new Rolls-Royce model in the brand’s history. Rolls-Royce is regarded as a brand that brought ultimate luxury to the SUV market. And it has now extended the experience to its car’s miniature model as well.
Rolls-Royce released a 1:8 scale model of the Cullinan, which costs a whopping $17,100 (approximately ₹13 lakh) or more depending on the level of customisation.
The luxury automobile maker has left no stone unturned to ensure that the same level of detailing and intricacy of the full-size SUV is replicated to scale. Each model is painstakingly crafted by hand with over 1,0000 components. The USB powered model comes with a perfect likeness of the iconic 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine.
All the car’s features such as its doors, luggage compartment and engine compartment can be opened and closed and its LED lights can be operated via remote control. Even the interiors of the car – the embroidered headrest, wood finishing and seat piping showcase the level of perfection with which the model has been crafted. It’s then hand-painted with Rolls-Royce colour-matched paint and polished by hand. The entire process takes 450 hours, half the time required to build the full-fledged car. No wonder then that it commands such a hefty price.
It is available in Tungsten/Arctic White and then can be customised to match the client’s Cullinan. In the Bespoke version, one can choose from an astonishing 40,000 standard colours or replicate a finish of their own liking.
It is presented on an elegant display base measuring 37 inches and is encased in a removable Perspex cover so that one can see the intricate details up-close.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars have also released a video on YouTube showcasing the miniature model and the brand’s vision to achieve perfection on every scale. The video quotes the brand’s Co-founder Sir Henry Royce: “Small things make perfection, but perfection is no small thing.”
