What is oil pulling?
Oil pulling or Kavala or Gundusha is an ancient ancient Ayurvedic practice. It involves swishing a tablespoon of oil in your mouth for around 20 minutes on an empty stomach and spitting it out. This process pulls out the bad bacteria present in your mouth and promotes better dental hygiene. You can choose any natural oil such as coconut or sesame.
Benefits of oil pulling
1. It removes harmful bacteria in your mouth and gets rid of bad breath.
2. It reduces plaque build up.
3. It also helps prevent bleeding and gum inflammation.
4. The practice can also help lighten stains on teeth.
B-Town divas who adopted this practice:
Anushka shared a picture of herself swishing oil on Instagram. She wrote, “This action is excellent for dental hygiene & health and also draws out toxins in the body. As we are all using this time to take better care of our health and improve our immunity I thought of sharing this. Hopefully, it will be as beneficial to you too”
Jacqueline uploaded an Instagram story featuring a bottle of pure coconut oil pulling mouthwash by Georganics. She even explained that it is the first thing one should do in the morning before having lemon water to remove all the toxins that were accumulated in one’s body while sleeping.
