Popular Spanish fashion brand Desigual, opened its second brick-and-mortar store in India, in Delhi’s DLF Avenue Mall on October 8. Launched by Tablez, an organised retail group, Desigual was first introduced in the Indian market in December 2019, on Myntra, while its first offline store was launched in August 2020 at Vegas Mall, Dwarka.
The brand known for its contemporary, comfortable and stylish outfits is targeted to a younger population.
“We are positive that Desigual’s emphasis on a distinctive and individualistic fashion statement is in line with the city’s young adult population and its evolving aspirations. We hope Desigual’s colourful and original garments will enable them to tell their own personal stories, and express values such as diversity and the freedom to be themselves,” said Adeeb Ahamed, Managing Director, Tablez.
The Spanish brand believes in free-spiritedness and acceptance. Their aim is to inspire people to be themselves and invite them to celebrate their authenticity. The collection includes outfits, accessories and footwear, made from sustainable materials and high-quality fibres.
“It is expected that the Indian fashion industry will grow fast and will become very digital. This will position the country in the top markets of the world. For that reason, India has become a strategic country for international brands as Desigual that has an omnichannel approach” said Jordi Balsells Channel Strategy Director in Desigual.
Amongst the many chic outfits that have stunning patterns, one of the main highlights is the Spring-Summer 2020 collection. This collection is defined by bold colours and sustainability.
Ahamed shared that Desigual has definitive plans to open more stores in the coming years in India. In the first phase of expansion, the brand is focussed on cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru. “In the coming year, we will finalise the new stores based on the high potential mall locations that are available,” said the Managing Director.
