Sula Vineyards rallies for Indian tigers, launches India’s first wildlife wine KĀDU

One of the most renowned wineries in India, Sula Vineyards is contributing their bit to wildlife conservation. Inspired by the idea of producing wine for a cause, Sula is actively supporting the conservation of the tigers in India with their premium range of wildlife wine Kādu which was first produced in the Karnataka winery of Sula.

Now, Kādu has launched in Maharashtra, extending the cause and spreading the effort to save the tigers of India. Available in three varieties, this wildlife wine features Kādu Chenin Blanc with slightly sweet, floral and fruity notes; Kādu Cabernet Shiraz, lush, medium-bodied with peppery notes and subtle oak flavour; Kādu Shiraz Rosé, light, fruity and full of luscious berry flavours. An opportunity for the wine lovers to stand for this cause, one sip at a time, a part of the sale of every bottle will be donated for the tigers’ conservation in Karnataka.

Sula Vineyards observed an alarming decrease in the population of the tigers, which eventually led the leading wine brand to take this initiative. In a special collaboration, Sula is working with Sanctuary Nature Foundation, which empowers and supports grassroot conservationists across the country. Reeling back to the previous works of the foundation, they have demonstrated a successful initiative to support Tiger conservation in Karnataka with the Mud on Boots Project.

The packaging is a fine balance of design and takes cues from its other wine bottles, not to forget that majority of Sula’s packing is recyclable. The label of Kadu bottles has been designed by Simon Frouws, where he portrayed a tiger with a backdrop of the Indian jungle.

Quality wines and wildlife conservation remain interconnected for the Founder and CEO of Sula Vineyards Rajeev Samant, he says, “As the pioneers of Indian wine, we want to contribute to the great work being done to protect tigers, in the way that we know best- creating fine wines.”
