Designer and Founder, Sangeeta Boochra Jewellery Founder of her eponymous jewellery brand, Sangeeta Boochra is known for her traditional and tribal silver jewellery designs. As the director and chief designer, Boochra reinterprets jewellery through the eyes of the modern woman. She imitates the organic yet contemporary nature of feminism through her designs, employing the principles of symbolism, architecture, and history. Initially, Boochra studied fashion designing but quit soon after she found her true calling in the art of jewellery making and founded her eponymous brand in 1994. Today, Sangeeta Boochra has as many as 45 stores spread all across the world. In 1998, she, along with her father-in-law Seth Lalit Kumar Boochra, started a community development programme that provides work from home to Indian artisans that provided work at least a few thousand artisans across all states. She works with these artisans to create jewellery pieces that are traditional yet modern and versatile. “I believe you can achieve everything you aspire for and do that without succumbing to the hustle culture. “Success is not easy, and it takes years of hard work to achieve something – but if you have the patience, you will achieve it.” Sangeeta Boochra Setting up processes and creating a value system for my team has helped me succeed simultaneously on multiple fronts.” Principal Designer, Essajees Atelier Sarah holds degrees in Art History from Duke and Oxford University, as well as diplomas in Business Administration from NYU Stern and Interior Design from Rachna Sansad Mumbai. She founded Essajees Atelier in 2014 as an extension of her family’s 106-year-old art dealership in the city’s heritage district of Colaba, Mumbai. Essajees Atelier is Sham’s endeavour to bring this legacy into the 21st century in a manner that marries the functional with the beautiful. Being in the creative field, Sarah says, “I am obsessed with art, and I am quite the art collector. I have over 100 paintings in my own collection in my house, so I think all of those for me are some of the most luxurious items that I own.” But when it comes to inspiration, Kelly Wearstler is the one she follows. “I really love her style and I think she’s done an incredible job transforming luxurious material and using them in very unique ways.” When asked about her dream car, she got candid and shared, “I think because my whole life has been just about art, antiques and design, for me a car is something that just takes me from point A “Try as many things until you find something that you’re so passionate about that you feel like you can’t live unless you do it.
