Don’t focus so much on trying to make others proud.” Aashni Shah Entrepreneur, Aashni + Co, Revivify For 36-year-old Aashni Shah, opening a luxury, multi-designer boutique, stocking a cocktail of the choicest Indian designers and couture in London’s quaint Notting Hill wasn’t part of Plan A. A former editor for commercials and assistant director for feature films, the London-based, Bombay-born entrepreneur’s life initially revolved around the magic of the cinematic experience. So much so, that she moved to London to study filmmaking at the National Film and Television School and MET Film school at the age of 22. During her stay, Shah recognized the lack of access to Indian design outside India. Her intrinsic interest for curating and creating kicked in and was channeled into building Aashni + Co, a vehicle to introduce a wealth of Indian fashion talent to London. After the phenomenal success of Aashni + Co, she launched her second independent venture REVIVIFY - a first-of-its-kind platform for preloved fashion. Having practiced slow living and mindful consumption over years herself, with REVIVIFY, she now wants to encourage sustainable shopping and catalyze a circular economy. “As this space evolves with new homegrown and bespoke brands entering the realm of luxury, Luxebook has been chronicling the Indian luxury category in an engaging format for many years now.” While she enjoys work, Shah loves visiting Rajasthan in India and is drawn in by the sheer opulence, culture, incredible food, shopping and service par excellence. “Outside of India, Maldives feeds my soul. Shah’s favourite restaurant is China Tang at The Dorchester in London. 4 | | 5
