Khushnooma Kapadia Khushnooma Kapadia, Vice President of Marketing – South Asia for Marriott International Inc Kapadia’s 20-year tenure with Marriott International that began in 2004, has been a fruitful one. She has been in charge of crafting the marketing and brand positioning roadmap, driving partnerships and collaborations, as well as integrating strategic IPs to the brand proposition. Kapadia has always led the media strategy, loyalty and digital marketing goals across a consortium of brands under the Marriott International portfolio. She is responsible for ideating and accelerating the company’s marketing strategy, while driving brand recognition in a highly competitive and dynamic marketplace. In her current role, she is in charge of all hotels across India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. Furthermore, she oversees a team of over 100 marketing communication professionals, across 17 brands and 160 operational hotels within South Asia. An action-oriented and agile leader, Kapadia is known for setting audacious goals with a winner’s mentality. She is a firm believer of a healthy work-life balance. She did her A-levels from Millfield School in England and graduated as an architect from the Pratt Institute of Design in New York, USA in 2004. Here, she also studied carpentry and photography. Kohelika interned in England with Sir Norman Foster, a renowned British architect and designer. Besides, she studied architecture in Italy and travelled extensively across northern and southern Italy to study its architecture. She also worked for the renowned architectural and design firm, Oliver Cope Architects who specialise in high-end townhouses in New York and the Hamptons. Upon her return to India in 2004, Kohelika started her own architectural and design practice and furniture manufacturing firm, Kohelika Kohli Architects, which is now merged with her mother’s interior design studio under the umbrella of K2India. The firm has executed projects in varied geographies including India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, England and the USA. Kohelika and K2India have won several design awards—most recently, Architectural Digest’s ‘AD100 2023 Award’ and ‘Top 50 Design Practices in India’ Award by ‘ID Honours 2022’, among others. She is a trustee of the Museum of Women in the Arts India and a board-member of the JS Institute of Design, New Delhi. In 2023, Kohelika launched her new brand of furniture, KOKO by K2India at the India Design ID exhibition. All the items in this collection are sculptural and handcrafted.
