| 5 Aditi Dugar Founder & Director, Urban Gourmet India Pvt. Ltd. A Mumbai girl, Aditi grew up surrounded by the foods of her mother’s and grandmother’s kitchens. This naturally led to some experiments in the kitchen—at 16, she started to cook and discovered a passion for baking. However, it was only after the birth of her first child that she gave up a career in finance to launch a niche catering company—Sage and Saffron. A self-taught cook, she went ahead and honed her baking talents in London at two-Michelin starred Le Gavroche and La Petite Maison. Thereafter, her next stop was Thailand where she trained extensively with a vegetarian street food vendor and took a stage at fine-dine restaurant Bo.Lan. Some of her stints were at restaurants Zuma and Tsunami. In 2016, she took a leap of faith and opened ingredient-driven restaurant Masque after two years of rigorous research and development across the country. In 2022, the modern Indian, tasting menu-only restaurant stood at 21 on the list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, the highest in India. Along with Masque and Sage & Saffron, Dugar also operates the kitchens at ARAKU Café in Bangalore and ARAKU restaurant and Seesaw in Mumbai, and her bakery - TwentySeven Bakehouse, whose kitchen is headed by Chef Rachelle Andrade. Her advice to the younger generation, “If you have a clear vision, don’t be afraid to follow it; always make an effort to listen to those around you, and invest time and energy in your support system.” “Success is in building and executing a vision and seeing it come to life, but it’s also in knowing that I explored every option to try and achieve something I’ve set out to do.” A fourth-generation hotelier and graduate from Cornell University, New York, Aashica Khanna has been instrumental in shaping the luxury wellness landscape in India. As the head of IHHR Hospitality since 2008, she has been at the helm of planning and executing all the brand’s new projects and hotel launches. In her current role, Khanna leads the operations and business development for ‘Ananda in the Himalayas’, a project that was founded by her father Ashok Khanna in 2000. Today, it is recognised as one of the top destination spas in the world. A self-confessed conscious traveller, she believes luxury is not a tangible thing. In her words, “It’s a feeling. It’s being surrounded by beauty, quality, craftsmanship and the feeling that it evokes.” This philosophy reflects in the Ananda brand footprint that boasts exceptional hospitality products and mindful wellness offerings. Her favourite holiday remains a nice hotel with a beautiful white beach, anywhere in the world. For wellness, she prefers “... slow sunny days, self-reflection, Ayurveda, great workouts and clean eating.” As someone who has tasted success, what does it really mean to her? “Success is peace and happiness,” she concludes. Aashica Khanna Director, IHHR Hospitality “LuxeBook is an insider’s perspective on Indian luxury, and everything that surrounds it.” | 4

Megha Asher Co-founder and COO, Juicy Chemistry The journey of Megha Asher, the co-founder and COO of Juicy Chemistry has been an unconventional one. In her formative years, she studied in Mumbai and later moved to Coimbatore to study International Baccalaureate (IB) at The Chinmaya International Residential School. Currently, Asher—mom to four-year-old Meera—lives in Coimbatore. The idea to launch Juicy Chemistry is linked with her personal journey. As someone who struggled with hypersensitive and acne-prone skin for over a decade, due to PCOD, she visited several dermatologists. However, over time, she realised that the products lacked efficiency. Asher wanted to go the organic way—little did she know a visit to the mall will turn out to be an eye-opener. Thus, her brand Juicy Chemistry was born with the aim of offering ‘simplified skincare’ through chemical and preservative-free formulations. In fact, it is the first ever Indian brand with a range of complete certified organic products by Ecocert (France) in accordance with COSMOS V3 Standard. In her role as the COO, Asher manages day-to-day operations of the company, HR and order fulfilment, while also handling social media and customer support. She aims to inspire other mompreneurs and those suffering from acne and other skin issues to take the organic route. Beyond her work life, Asher enjoys painting, reading, listening to music and spending time with her daughter. “The definition of success is very individual. I don’t think I can define it as such. Mrunalini Rao Founder, Mrunalini Rao As someone who had a deep appreciation of art and craft at a young age, Mrunalini Rao would always integrate design elements in all her work. Her love for playing dress-up propelled her to channel her creativity, pushing her to sketch fashion illustrations and elaborate gowns. At the same time, she was also intrigued by human anatomy and its physiology. This led to a constant tussle between her passion for design and interest in science. However, she followed her intuition and pursued undergraduate studies in design at National Institute of Fashion Technology. She spent four years at the prestigious institute getting a better understanding of design. She mastered several crafts during this time, which led her to being recognised as the ‘best academic performer’ — an award that she received from eminent Indian designer, JJ Valaya. Her pursuit of design took her next to London–the fashion capital and Rao’s favourite city. While she had secured admission in the University of Arts London, she was already employed for over a year as an assistant designer. But there was a burning fire within to start her own label. That was the genesis for the label ‘Mrunalini Rao’, launched in 2014 and her prêt label, ‘Urí’ in 2020. For her, luxury means “comfort, a good design, craftsmanship and quality.” Her eponymous label offers a range of artistic, elegant and comfortable clothing in fusion and bridal wear, whereas her prêt label showcases sustainability. “LuxeBook is my go-to guide for all things luxurious, embodying timeless elegance and keeping me updated on the latest trends in the world of fashion.” Namrata Soni Celebrity Makeup Artist & Founder, Simply Nam A celebrated makeup and beauty artist, Namrata Soni boasts an illustrious career spanning over 25 years in the industry.
