According to her, “Luxury means freedom to do anything you want, anytime you want.” She blends ethnic and contemporary designs intelligently and her clothes are popular for enhancing the feminine silhouette. Today, Arpita’s eponymous label is characterised by her signature embroidery mirror work, in eclectic colour combinations. “ I would say I am a 7 am to 10 pm person” says the designer, describing her devotion to her work. Mondays are “absolute chaos”, she confesses, but a lot of the week’s energy goes into “…. figuring out what to do over the week.” She’s a stickler for a clean diet, but also loves junk food at times, though nothing sweet! “I feel one must be very aggressive when one is starting out, and it is also very important to have a supportive team to be successful as a business.” Falguni and Shane Peacock Creative Directors, Falguni Shane Peacock F alguni and Shane are the power couple of India’s fashion industry, with a clientele that includes the likes of Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Their creative process includes a signature use of feathers, contrasting elements, and a good dose of glamour to make outfits unlike any other in the fashion industry. One of the first designers to showcase at New York Fashion Week, they were the first ones to take up the challenge of putting up a digital show at the India Couture Week.
