Sharmistha Chakraborty, the Founder and CEO has weathered the pandemic with corporate alliances, but with the luxury traveller looking to spend, she sees bumper revenues as well. Chakaraborty, who’s favourite cities are “Bar Harbour in Maine, Las Vegas and County Cork Ireland,” says that the world has changed, elaborating, “The post-pandemic world has become more sensitive to smaller joys, more self-aware and cautious and learnt the value of family time and togetherness. A greater urge to travel, FOMO is hitting everyone harder than ever.” With a soon to launch app, Voyaah is ready to take you to your next destination and cater to the new world, whether you have FOMO or not. “The post-pandemic world has become more sensitive to smaller joys, more self-aware and cautious and learnt the value of family time and togetherness.” Vanika Choudhary Chef Founder, Noon and Sequel F or Vanika Choudhary, the pandemic was a time of “Introspecting and going back to our roots whether in terms of eating or lifestyle.” The launch of her ingredient-forward restaurant Noon then came at absolutely the right time, having launched in February 2022. The building blocks for Noon came from Choudhary’s experiences with food from her childhood spent in Jammu & Kashmir, as well as her trips around the world. During her childhood the family grew their own produce, practised composting, and cooked with the freshest produce and foraged their own seasonal ingredients. This has influenced Choudhary’s food philosophy when it comes to Sequel, a farm-to-fork bistro, and Noon. After 10 years of working in advertising, the Choudhary felt that her true calling was to establish a space where clean eating was prioritised, and diners could have access to organic ingredients. Choudhary opened Sequel’s flagship space Bandra in 2016, followed by a restaurant in Kala Ghoda in 2017. In November 2020, the company launched Sequel BKC, which has a new, formal dining space and menu, while the space is designed by Ashiesh Shah. 70 | | 71
