For Narula, the best style statement is a crisp white shirt, kohl and mascara with slick backed hair. What’s her advice to the younger generation? “Use new age tools like technology in a positive way, to make you a better person, use it to encourage and empower you.” Her favourite cocktail remains a skinny margarita, and she loves the idea of street style Chinese from Delhi! Paris is her favourite city, which is so ‘luxurious’ with fashion. “Success is not something you sit on, success is something that makes you work harder.” Saba Kapoor Founder and Creative Director of Nivasa Contemporary Saba Kapoor’s foray into the world of furniture began at a young age. Her true interest in design was sparked during a small school project where she had to build a model of a horse stable in her father’s factory. Consequently, her father encouraged her to pursue her passion in design. Kapoor learnt the nuances of furniture and interior design at Parsons New York, where she was selected for a postgraduate degree. After working with BoConcept in New York, she joined Nivasa, her family’s 24-year-old furniture brand. However, it was her passion for straight line furniture that inspired her to launch ‘Nivasa Contemporary’. Her brand offers an inviting range of unexpected colours and unique material combinations—stretching the boundaries of art, engineering and design to create exquisite contemporary furniture. A lover of the Namiji Plains at Serengeti in Africa, her style inspiration also comes from nature. Her approach to creation begins with understanding the requirements of the consumer, largely through a study of their lifestyle. Under Kapoor’s supervision, Nivasa Contemporary has introduced personalised furniture that caters to a clients’ lifestyle and aspirations—offering them the most relevant designs to give them the home of their dreams. With so much on her plate, how does she begin her mornings? “I wake up and listen to a song my best friend sang, it’s called Shukra Kara. Then I work out—either kickboxing, yoga or heavy cardio. I spend a little time with my husband before getting ready and heading to work.” “LuxeBook offers an exquisite glimpse into the realms of luxury lifestyle, fashion, design and culinary delights.” | 46 | 47
